Mucosa Butter

200g organic butter
1/3 cup oil (coconut, olive, avocado etc)
1 tablespoon honey (optional)
1 tablespoon inulin
5-10 probiotic capsules, opened and added
Method: Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix until combined.  Use as a butter replacement.  This recipe works beautifully on children and adults to build up the numbers of good gut bacteria and to enhance immunity.

 Gut Health Coconut Slice

This slice is full of therapeutic ingredients.  Inulin and PHGG are prebiotics fibres that support the growth of healthy gut bacteria.  An added bonus is inulin is sweet.

70g desiccated coconut
30g dried cranberries
95g coconut oil
40g compound including PHGG, inulin, vanilla protein powder, coconut ice powder
Method: Grind coconut to a fine powder. Add all other remaining ingredients.  Add to slice tray. Refrigerate until set. Cut into slices.

Fennel Seeds

Fennel is an amazing herb with an abundance of applications. It is a carminative for the digestive system, can help to promote breastmilk for lactating mothers, and can be used topically for hirsutism (male pattern hair growth in women). In this situation I have included a recipe below for eating fennel seeds after a meal to aid digestion.

1/4 cup of Fennel seeds
2 Tbsp honey
1 tsp of coconut oil
Heat oil in a skillet. Add seeds and honey (or maple syrup). Toast until seeds are coating and sugar is slightly browned. Pour out onto wax paper or plate and cool. Eat a few seeds after a meal.

Digestif Tea

2 teaspoon fennel
2 teaspoon cardamon
2 teaspoon licorice root

Combine the above ingredients and grind to a powder. To make your tea use 2 teaspoons per cup of boiling water. Steep for 10 minutes and drink. This combination also mixes nicely in coconut or almond milk.
